Problem: Java is not enabled.

Solution #1: Enable Java when your browser requests. The Java uploader is better for files greater than 50 MB in size.

Solution #2: Click on the link for Non-Java Uploader. This is a no-frills uploader for files less than 50 MB in size.

Problem: Applet does not accept folders

Solution: ZIP folders before uploading. On OS-X, right-click folder and select "Compress" from the pop-up menu;
